Stop thinking of guns as the problem. That would surely work, but I do not believe it is practical. You are coming at this from a religious point of view, whereas I am coming at this from a law enforcement point of view. I would much rather have this END peacefully with everyone liking guns, or at least leaving gun owners alone, but I do not see the other side going about this predicament in your wanted fashion. I think they will use force. We all lose.

Do you understand it is the Dems that are turning this into an "us versus them"? They are distorting and lying about statistics. They are throwing in suicides, gang and drug related homicides with gun deaths. That shows they are being dishonest and only trying to disarm us. They have already said they are coming for semi auto pistols. Assault rifles are listed in the rifle class of gun deaths. Most people think those are the majority of deaths when they aren't even up to 500 per year with all rifles combined. You have to take a side in this. If you vote for Biden then you have chosen your side and you were for gun control.

I don't disagree with you on the point of gun control advocates skewing numbers to make things appear how that want them to.
But I do disagree with what I quoted. BOTH sides are feeding into it.
They may (or may not have.. Who really knows?) started it, but Republicans didnt have to do it back. 2 wrongs don't make a right. At some point somone has to be the bigger person and stop being petty and divisive.
Unfortunately I don't see anyone currently in government that would be willing to stand up and do that.

While I do get and respect what you're saying, it's just too little, way too late! We need to do both. You sound respectable and have lived many walks of life and seen many things and different areas. BUT, what you have been doing isn't helping in the huge scheme of things with respect to what's in jeopardy.
It reminds me of that far left anti gun reporter who was invited to a shooting range to shoot "assault rifles" safely and help change his mind on the dangers. Long story short is they taught him firearm safety and showed the safe and proper way to shoot. trying to show him the other side of law abiding gun owners. This "gentleman" then goes and writes a story on how "scary" it was, he was terrified the whole time, and how he now has PTSD! "God help us"
The only way to combat this is to fight as hard or harder than the ones fighting to take our rights away, I am by no means condoning violence or "fighting them on a battlefield". They fight a heck of a lot harder to take away our rights than we do to keep them, because we already have them. We think it can't happen, until it does happen. They use the "slight edge" tactics. Then it's too late, and we say "why didn't we see it coming"? "We should have done more"!
While I didn't have a huge problem with bump stocks being taken away, I had a huge problem with the principle of it because it gives them traction. Now it's "weapons of war" they are claiming to demonise US. You say we shouldn't demonise them? They demonise us and that's how they win, with rhetoric and that's their battlefield.
NOW is the time, although the time is already passing us.

Now that you mentioned it, let me remind everyone that there are already plenty of countries where you can live in a communist or socialist society without having to change what we have built up here in America. You think you will be safer in a country without guns, move. You want the Government telling you what to do, move. If you NEED more government, leave. Our government isn't perfect, but it is still the best gov'ment on this whole rock. Go to where they already have whatever it is that you are seeking. It is out there waiting for you. Leave us alone.
