Actually, the basic Hawkeye borescope isn't all that expensive and it will allow you to see inside the chamber and bore. I have one and I use it for a bunch of things besides guns. There are a whole raft of things you probably want to see inside of but can't.
I used it the other day to look in the sink drain to see if the Missus had dropped a ring down there without having to resort to taking the drain apart...
It wasn't in there. She dropped it on the floor under the stove.....l
They are around 600 bucks, less than the price of a medium power, run of the mill optic and much less than a good bolt gun.
I've changed how I clean my guns entirely with the borescope because I can see what I missed now.
