If yours measure that length and mine measure 2.905", I wonder whose reamer is out of spec. Or maybe Hornady bullets have a .025" tolerance.

I checked three or four different lots of 143eldxs awhile back for a question on another forum. .015 was the farthest apart on base to ogive .006 or .007 was the other. It is possible yours are on the long side.

My smith is going to have JGS build him a .170 freebore reamer and we'll try that.

If I were to get a new reamer, I would get one with .250" freebore.
