Flattest Shooting Hunting Bullet 257 Weatherby Vanguard 26" pipe

Was out last weekend trying to confirm my drops with the 131 BJ out of my 25-284. Still not perfect but getting close.

500 yds- 7.0 MOA velocity 2411.6 FPS energy-1691.6 ft-lbs

700 yds-12.2 MOA velocity 2165 FPS energy- 1363.3

i was still hitting a little high so I may need to tweak my BC and velocity. Shooter says it's still got 1822.3 FPS at 1000 yds but only 965.9 ft-lbs.

26" Helix 6 with R26. Maybe not the flattest but holds velocity and ft-lbs out there quite always.

I bet it has great wind bucking ability at 1000 yards. To me flat shooting is not the most important thing anymore. Range finders are great and cheap. Less wind drift to me is much more important. Until they make a device that can read wind all the way to the target wind calls are the hardest part of long range shooting. Especially in the field. I always wanted a 25-284 but never had a customer order one so never got a reamer for it.

But the op didn't say out to 500 yards. He said 700. At 700 yards the very much higher bc Bibb still has 1200 ft pounds. The Barnes has
839 ft pounds at 700. I gave it the full 3700 fps too.
Wind drift is 39 compared to 27.5. that's a full kill zone difference.

What is a Bibb, sir

No biggie most people have never heard of the unless they shoot BR. Randy is the big guy on 30BRs. That's probably why the 25s are backordered. Too many little 30s to make.

My Creed 1000 yard gun is 5.1 at 1000. But my 257wby is 5.9. that's what the much higher bc does for you. .690 for my Creed and . 520 for the bee. The bee starts 500fps faster too and still gets beat by my Creed.

48 gr of rl26 with a 147eldm in lapua brass. Cci450 and 29 inch barrel. It's no secret recipe. Does 2950fps and 10 to 12 firings on each brass. At Williamsport it shot in the 3s for 10 shots in a match. It's the same load I put in all my customers creeds I've built and it's pretty good. 47.8 to 48.2 shoots 2900 in 24 inch barrels with the 147. I wish I could do it on primer alone. Rl26 is scarce.

I finished up a Super Creed today and will run some loads tomorrow. It's a Creed with .110 longer body with same neck and shoulder and body taper. Should gain 100fps. That few inches less wind drift could be all I need to win more.
