Dang!!!!! 3900 fps!!!! That's a laser beam of death right there!!Hammer bullets will definitely shoot!
Yes sir! Bolt got heavy at 3965. Backed her up a grain and shot that group this morning.Dang!!!!! 3900 fps!!!! That's a laser beam of death right there!!
I'm lovin these Hammers!Dang!!!!! 3900 fps!!!! That's a laser beam of death right there!!
And I was excited about 3511 fps with the 109 gr in my 6.6-284 Norma. You've got me wanting a 257 Bee now!!I'm lovin these Hammers!
You are correct. My 6.5-284 (which is ballistically about the same as the PRC) shoots the 124 gr Hunter over 3200 fps but it groups better and with lower SD&ES at 3140 fps. She's a screamer! As a side note, I started pressure testing a 6.5 CM this morning with 117 gr shockhammers. 3.5 gr over book max with StaBall hit 3169. No sign of pressure yet with that one. If I aint mistaken those are PRC speeds or dang near it.
I found 2 velocity nodes this morning. The lower was at 2920-2926 the higher velocity node was'nt quite as flat 3114- 3123 but both were way flatter than everything else. I'd be tickled with a creed shootin over 3100 w/ 117s.You are correct. I've got the 123 gr Absolute going right around 3130 fps in my 6.5 Creed with BL-C(2).
Actually, I just looked at my data and my node with the 123 is exactly the same as yours with the 117's (3114-23 fps). Is your barrel 24"?I found 2 velocity nodes this morning. Same as mine. Not surprised the ballistics are the same since the bullet weight difference is nominal.24" 1:8 twist
