Federal does it again 😅

Just got done scrolling through the launch page, reloading question was basically "well tell you more later". So not the most reassuring, but if they do hit 7 prc ammo prices that could help.

The greatest part of the whole deal was the gif.... of the trajectory hitting the elk in the butt and the prc in the leg.

It was either an Easter egg of a humorous employee or a massive oversight, at any rate it's the best part of the whole thing. Going to meme it to death....

There's a small clip just posted on YouTube from horizon firearms, they said it's about the size of a 280 case running 80k psi and 2920 from a 16" barrel with a 170gr bullet.

Frankly, I'd like to see them focus more on making primers. They usually seem to get that right. Now they just need to get the volume right!
This is precisely why people get so ****ed at new cartridges because supply hasn't met the demand in years now and instead of consolidating to meet that demand they're devoting resources to this BS. It'll be just like 224 valkryie, 6.8 western, and as mentioned 9mm federal.

As others have said, short barrel-supressed is probably what this is "aiming" for. Question is are many of our favorite cans up to the task?
I think this re-designed case has huge implications all around. I'm down for the ride.

I don't think most of us fit in the target demographic.

But, there are lot of:

"What short barreled cartridge/file with magnum like velocity is best for elk at 1,000 yards" type questions on here.

"I want to run suppressed but I want a short overall rifle."

"Would a 18" or 20" 28 Nosler work?"

To which we get the most ridiculous answers of:

"might as well just shoot a 7mm-08 because at 20" you'll get the same velocity as a 20" 28 Nosler. You will lose so much velocity that it's not even worth it…"

There is a market for this. Factory rifle, factory ammo guys. Website says there's over 80 rifles available in this cartridge at launch. I image ammo will be expensive, like a Weatherby cartridge.

I imagine steel cases will be harder and/or impossible to reload. Maybe there's a setting on our AMP annealers? LOL

TBD what ES and SD is on the factory ammo. I'm betting on erratic to downright awful.

I understand where you're coming from, but in contrast I'm pretty sure the demographic is changing, and changing fast.
