Favorite loads for .280AI, .30-06 and .300 Win Mag

So if it came down to only choosing a few powders in regards to rifles, I would have to go H1000, H4350 and 8208XBR. H1000 could handle most larger cartridges and my preferred bullet choices for those calibers which is long, heavy for caliber. The H4350 would cover all the Creedmoor variants and other mid size cartridges. I choose 8208XBR for smaller cartridges. IT gives me insanely low extreme spreads in 6 ARC. This is assuming all three powers are readily available for the rest of my life. Crazy thing is I have 30-40 different powders in my arsenal. I use the crap out of those three though.

The 300 for a mountain rifle? What do you plan to hunt. I would use your 280AI in a light weight stock. If your chasing elk then Barns 180 TTSX works well.or premium bullet high BC that shoots well from your rifle. The 06 wasn't designed to shot 180s but have and done well. I would use a 150 or 165 premium bullet again that shoot from your rifle well. The 280 the 140 gr will be my choice and pick bullets same as the others, if it won't shoot well its no good
I know it's excessive but my curiosity got the best of me. Sometimes we all do things without much planning and if I can convince my buddy to do a budget moose hunt with me, that will probably be the rifle that goes with me.

Only experienced with 280 AI. I like IMR 4831 for the 140 class bullets. IMR 4350 shot well but velocity was much slower.
This is using the obsolete 139 grain Hornady interbond.
I will add that Ramshot hunter looked promising but I scored more IMR 4831 so I put the hunter back on the shelf.
Browning X bolt 26"
139 grain interbond
59.5 grain IMR 4831
Federal 210
3090 fps
That's what a have a new Browning rifle. A Xbolt Hells Canyon Speed Long Range 280AI. Has a 26-inch barrel on it. Bought some of the ELD X 175gr. And ELD M 180 gr to try. I was planning on trying IMR 7828ssc. I have several cans of imr 4831.

For heavier bullets I would try the IMR 7828 first. It’s what I use for 160 accubond at slightly over 2950 fps.
Good luck

In the 300 win mag, I shoot 185 Berger VLD hunting with 70 grains of imr 4831. Its groups really well and going around 2950. That’s with hornady brass.
My 3006 load I’d have to look it up but I know I’m shooting varget with 150 nosler bt. Winchester brass. Mostly run only CCI primers.

Without hesitation I'd feed them all the "mother's milk " of just about everything reloading..H-4350....even the 300wm, I'll give up 100fps just not to have clutter on my bench...greatest " if you could only have 1 powder, ever" H-4350
Used to be a H4831sc guy but switched to H4350: Peterson brass, 76.5 gr. behind 174 HH, Fed 215M, gives me 3250 and 1” or less at 200 yds. My elk pill for WY special season 2024….

for my 30-06 its 57.0 gr of 4831 behind a Sierra 180 gr SPBT OR the Nosler 180 SPBT. I have taken near 50 deer with the Sierra load in my lifetime and a few deer and some plains game in RSA with the Nosler.

Deff not saami 😁😁😁
Oh come on. You can't do me/us like that. Mine was cut with a saami reamer but throated for the 215's. At .020" jump, I'm at 3.710" oal.

with a 26" barrel I've pushed it as high as 2960 with 78gr of h1000. Sd was high though at 14.2.

76.5gr of h1000 puts me just over 2900 with an sd of 7 and shoots about 1/2 moa.

I wanted to do either the mk248 or the broz reamer but I didn't want to wait on it. I'll do one of those next time around.

385 rounds down this barrel in a little over a year, I should probably go ahead and order a blank and a reamer.

I don't own the reamer. All my proof barrels are really fast so far. I'm at 78.5 grains of H1k and 2991-2996 with a 200.20x. She's a runner!
