Favorite do-all rifle

I take your point about the 30/06 for NA, though I would suggest the recoil of the 338 Win Mag and 375 aren't too dissimilar. https://chuckhawks.com/recoil_table.htm States 35.2 ft lbs vs 37.3 ft lbs and an identical recoil velocity of 16.3 comparing 225 gr with 300 gr.

My wife had zero issues with the recoil of my old Model 70 in .375 H&H…..which is far too heavy for her to comfortably carry when hunting. She much prefers her Model 70 .338 WM …. 8 lbs. 15 oz. "all up"!

She absolutely refuses to try my 9 + lb. 375 AI…..probably a smart move on her part! memtb

For me, it's my current rifle, which is a Browning Hells Canyon LR in 7mm RM.

That said, my favorite rifle of all time was a Ruger M77 MKII in .270. A true tack driver that I was bummed I got rid of.
I'm willing to wager with confidence that the majority of members have "that one" rifle that we regret getting rid of for one reason or the other. Welcome to the forum from the "free state" of Florida!

From America's smallest big game to Africa's "Big Five" (where legal) it's fully capable! Photos @ 11:00 😂

Win. Model 70 "push feed", 24" Douglas SS Premium with iron sights & Leupold CDS 3.5-10, McMillan stock with Pachmyar Decellerator……chambered in .375AI. "Fighting Weight" shown! memtb

I'm partial to the Win. push-feeds, too. My go to is a featherweight '06. looks a lot like yours.

Had a stainless Mark II in 7 Mag I got rid of recently. Haven't slept well since. With 160-grain partitions and RE-25 it was accurate beyond all reason.
