27" 9tw Shilen select
3700+ max with a 100gr BT
3550+ max with a 115BT
This is using Peterson 280ai brass.

I ran some 133EH up to 3250-3300 with soft Nosler cases, for velocity checks.
Even though it's not stable, obviously.
N560-R19&23 make the Nosler bullets get gone.! The barrel is from a 2007 25/06 AI build. We were getting ahead of the curve supposedly, by going faster than 1-10"

I bought a Shilen last year for the purpose of building a short range Benchrest rifle.

First thing that struck me when I unpacked it was, " WOW, a premium priced barrel & this is the best that they can do with the bluing!?"
Really, their bluing is not spectacular!

My plans have gone in other directions, so I have not shot it yet.

If anyone wants a 26" heavy varmint barrel for a small shank Savage, 1:10 chambered in 250 Savage, I'll make you a deal.

Yes.
It's a Shilen, 26" heavy varmint. 1:10 twist Savage prefit (small shank) chambered in 250 Savage.

I screwed it onto an action with plans for a short range Benchrest rifle.
Never did get a stock, so it's never been shot.

I think I'm too new to send you a direct message. In the meantime, what are you asking for the barrel? Is it threaded? That's a lot of steel for what I want to do, but there aren't a lot of 250 Savage barrels floating around and I can remove steel if I have to (shudder).

You might want to check your settings and make sure your PM are turned on.

The barrel is not threaded.
I got the barrel through Northland Shooters Supply (NSS).
It is already blued, from Shilen.
And for my hunting use, i'll agree, it's too heavy. Hence why I'm looking to sell it.
$225 shipped.
