I am thinking of buying or making an F class type bipod to get the best rock solid rest when sighting in. I shoot a lot of long range but mainly as practice for hunting.
Any suggestions on a good rest or build pattern or even something totally different. I currently use a bulls bag or a Harris bipod.

I have Atlas and Harris Bipods with a Protector rear bag and it is rock solid. In most cases it's not the bipod that is the issue with steadiness, but the rear bag that is not stable enough. If what you have does not work for you, check out the Sinclair bipod rest for F-class.

That is the one I was looking at. I have a few rear bags that I have been less than satisfied with. Always too low or too high. I tend to use a squeeze bag in the rear to make small adjustments but at longer distances (600 plus) not as steady. A rear adjustable post may be an option too. Bottom line is I want a rock solid rest for sighting in so as much human erro

I've got a couple Sinclair f class bipod that work really well for what your looking to do. You should look into them. They have a pretty wide stance

As a hunter I sight in with and use a Atlas to hunt,10 oz.carry 99 % on pack.May have to use with pack or terrain, for shot,I also sometimes have my tripod that I use too.

How does the Atlas compare to the Harris. The Harris I have has served me well but I have heard the Atlas is better.... why?
They both work well, however the Atlas can be mounted or removed much easier and quicker. Also, the legs can be adjusted forward and aft in varying positions.
