Ever Misplace A Rifle in your Home

One that ticks me off is the mystery of why every other time I do a wash/dry of clothes a sock disappears ? No where to be found. I check inside shirts, etc., gone to the sock hiding place somewhere. I never find them inside anything, behind, side of washer and dryer. No where ! Reminds me of the guy on TV commercial telling his wife the pain is gone. No you don't understand . Gone ! 😁
Have faith. You are not alone!

I have a haunted one. This is no bs. About a year ago I "lost" ... ? My wallet. It was on the table in the morning. I Never left the house. About 11am I went to turn TV on and noticed wallet was gone. I thought WTH ? I figured one of the dogs took it. I looked all over the house. I interrogated the older dog that does that. I was getting ****ed. I looked outside, on other side of fence in neighbors yard, asked him, looked in his yard, nothing. My front door was open and thought maybe somebody walked in and took it. I figured unlikely with 2 gates and 2 dogs to go through. This might be long post sorry 🙄 I never found it. I had to replace wallet, drivers license, carry permit (for 37 other states), credit cards, debit card , hunting/fishing license, etc. I had $140 cash and a small winning lotto ticket that were only two things that couldn't be replaced.
Well, about 6 months later a buddy was here I was going to give him something that was in a box up on a shelf under other boxes. I dug out. Put on floor and opened up. I was digging out ammo pouches for belt, stock, etc. My wallet was camo. A few of the ammo pouches were camo and some black. I did a double take, there was my wallet! Same size and look of the camo ammo pouches. I said no f'ing way ! He said what ? I reached done and picked it up. I said my wallet. He said no f'ing way ! What's very strange is I hadn't had that box down since I had moved in here a few years before. Nothing I've needed in it. He thought maybe I had down and dog dropped in box and I put back up. I said I've never taken that box down in 3 years!
I still can't explain it. Maybe a ghost with a sense of humor? Very strange... and no I wasn't drunk😁 I lost it in the a.m..

Can't say I ever misplaced a gun but a couple years ago I was out scouting deer trails in the snow in the woods. I got into some thick brush following tracks before finally making my way out when I realized by hip holster was empty. Spent about 3 hours retracing my steps multiple times before I finally found the gun in a briar patch half covered in leaves and snow. Huge relief. Gotta say though that you all have me thinking I might be able to act absent minded and purchase a few more guns "I forgot I had" without the wife catching on... a couple times at least -lol

I lose knives often. Sometimes find. Most not. I had a Sog Titan clipped in my pocket about 7 years ago. I was in mtns. Went down a brushy trail to bottom to check trail cams. Went back to truck and went home. Later noticed knife gone. I figured it got pulled out while walking up or down brush. Went back a few days later and retraced my steps. Looked through brush. Where I walked to each trail cam. Nothing. Never found. Figured some day somebody will be excited to find. Not a great story. Just came to mind. I do have a good one left I just thought of ...🤔🙄

We just moved in June, and about a month ago I found some sights and magazines that I lost 2 moves ago. I knew what the box they were in looked like, just couldn't locate it.
Oh man! If we take this discussion into small items and reloading components, it will become a year long thread.

These guys may misplace an item or two every now and then.

This thread is making me very anxious. I better go count my guns again. No, wait; that won't help because I don't know how many I have.

I knew I'm going to misplace one sooner or later so I actually bought duplicates of my favorite go to guns.
Seriously, I bought duplicate CZ squirrel rifles, duplicate Sauer deer rifles and I have 4 duplicate carry Canik MC9's. Two Walthers, Two Kel-Tecs, 4 Inertia Action shotguns. You see what I mean. I just don't ever want to get into a situation where I don't have at least one of my guns that I use all the time.

Hey, you know the expression "Two is one and one is none"?

I have a few "duplicates" in my collection also, and some handguns and mil spec arms, I have more than duplicates.
