Eld m New version vs old translucent tip 225 gr

i just picked up a box is the 175 eld x ones for my 28 nosler and the tip is just a solid red instead of the old style.

When I used the 212 eldx I never noticed the change but that doesn't mean they didn't change it.

I talked to a Hornady tech today. He told me that the b.c. is the same in the two versions of the 225 eld m. He said that the longer bearing surface of the old version gave the older version increased b.c. to equal the new version even though the new is longer. That statement is contrary to what I have always believed.

I was told the exact same. I dont have any new lots to try yet but have shot the original kind to 1910 yards and they hold a .362 g7 like the website says.

Thats just my testing. I know others are around there up to a .37_ g7
