I've been tipped a few times as a mechanic. Working on a Sunday for stranded tourist in the area. And as a butchers helper I have also been tipped. Especially when it's late at night after hours. I feel it depends on the service. How many butchers will stay open till midnight waiting on someone to drop a deer, hog, etc off ? Or wait for you to come get your meat at late hours. I have gotten a $50.00 tip butchering a steer late at night for a wedding the next day. Definitely unusual circumstances. But the man did show his appreciation. Just as others. When towing or fixing their vehicles. I also believe the prices we charged may have played a big part. But even after knowing this, I would not tip unless it was for some unusual circumstances & felt really grateful. I would imagine most don't expect it. But when its given it is greatly appreciated.
