Do you guys cull brass that “had pressure”

Ryeguy,

It's on the Internet so it's true.
I have a Wilson case trimmer and cut off ejector markers. Then I back off a grain or two and continue using the brass.
On my 8mm wildcat I don't have to trim the brass
The 7-.3338 RUM requires trim to length every time.

Use the .209” good and tight, should not go in.

.210” goes in, not tight.

Take 100 pieces EACH of Rem, Lapua, Winchester brass and have them Rockwell tested. You may see 6% variation, and three times that when you lump all 3 brands together...what I found out. So, you see soft brass have ejector marks, etc sooner, which means that the softer brass will lose primer pockets faster.

Lapua and Alpha has incredible QC, and I never tested any, but even in Lapua, you see where a case may show a slight amount of difference in bolt lift, etc.

What spins up red lights for me is if several rounds have the bolt close easy, then a round has very firm bolt closing....I am apt to cull that piece of brass given that it was full length sized same as the other rounds. Kinda weird how we can get superstitious over some things.
