Timely review. I'm researching options for the multi-caliber rifles like the SRS, as well as the MRAD and AI AXMC. The Desert Tech SRS A2 has the edge on weight and portability but would need to get behind one. I couldn't connect with the semi-auto bullpup design, like the Tavor

They are definitely a love/hate relationship. Some of my friends think they're so ugly I don't think they'd shoot them if they were given the rifle for free. Others really dislike the ergonomics of working the bolt but I found it fairly natural. My only real complaint would be your stuck with the trigger it comes with, but it's plenty good for a rifle designed to be used in the field.

I was able to get behind an A1 at my local shop. Not ideal since I'm doing it offhand but manipulating the bolt wasn't a problem and the trigger wasn't bad. Not a Jewell, but better than most factory triggers I've used. Magazines didn't impress me. I'll make another trip to the store and see if they will let me mount a bipod and scope and go prone with it.
Question rattling around in my head is whether I'll use the interchangeable barrel option much. The chassis plus two caliber conversion kits is around $6K and I can get pretty close to building two customs rifles for around the same amount of money with better triggers and magazines. Save money with the SRS by not having to buy two scopes.
Just have to decide whether it is a love or hate relationship.
