Deadly Precision Gunsmithing?

Well i might be looking for another custom builder so I will look up mr Bruno. After all of this I still don't have a long range rifle! My 470 is only good for about 50 yards.

This is from Deadly Precision Gunsmithing website:

My business philosophy is simple. Quality and customer service are first priority. I believe customer service is as important as the the finished product. Every transaction is a personal relationship. I look forward to discussing your next rifle build!

Tell him Derek from Ohio referred you.

Exactly. In that 50 yards it rules as the supreme master. Different tools for different jobs I guess. I was really hoping for a 300 win that could do it from 500 yds. My last sheep hunt ended with me meeting the boundaries of my physical abilities.

Its to bad because in the beginning he had some good post and outstanding videos on gunsmithing that Im sure took alot of time to do. I think he might of been sponsor too.

I'm pretty much bummed!

Grit rebarreled my 270 AM with a bbl I got from Derek M. Did an outstanding job in a short period of time. It was when he was first getting serious.

Delivered the stuff to his place and picked it up when ready.

Shoots lights out. Everything is top notch.

Gave him high recommendations.

Something must have went south with him or his family. His wife and two boys are a delight.

He was straight up with me and well accepted in his neck of the woods.

Maybe its me! Paul Stemic(?) of recent Wildcat bullet fame is another that I spent time with and seemed like a nice fella, though I thought he jumped in a bit too big and too hard and had "partners". That went down hill also.

Ditto. I actually did my first custom through him based off your input. He was great about answering all my questions and was awesome to deal with up until it was time to get my rifle. He even called me the week before my rifle was originally supposed to be finished and told me it would be 3 weeks. 3 weeks turned into 4 months before I finally got my rifle.

I think he got hit way too hard with too many builds and just didn't know how long be would be delayed. I hope he gets it straightened out because he was very good to work with on the first half of my build.

Wow, I really feel for you I know the feeling. Once they get the money you are at their mercy. I did not use him but My last build was similar to that. Four month completion and one year later I was still waiting. Then When I finally got my rifle he used an outdated reamer that was the first one he bought years ago and my new rifle would not shoot boattail bullets, so my my new smith just emailed me to tell me my barrel is in. All the wait and the lying and now I have to send it out to get it done right..............................so the four months I was promised turned into 42 months.................................The first smith was Carolina Precision Rifles..........................

When I was going through all the Crap with CPR I knew I could not loose it with the Smith but had to keep my cool. But it was hard then when I finally got it started working up a load with Berger bullets and could not keep it under 1.250 He avoided my emails............................................

Let me know how things come out ........................Even if you do finally get your rifle. Everyone needs to be warned about this guy.

I have been searching for another quality long range Gunsmith for awhile now as the couple I have used in the past are all six months to a year behind now. I ran across Lorenzo of Deadly Precision Gunsmithing on this forum and have spoken with him multiple times recently concerning my .338 Norma build, he seems to be a great guy and I am going to give him a shot at building the barreled action on my next long range rifle! Yes, I have read the previous posts about some bad experiences others have had but I feel his overall reputation and work speaks for itself. I will keep you all posted on my personal experiences with him, but so far so good.

Thanks,

Ok, but he still has my $3k and my night force scope despite every excuse known to man. I have now been in contact with ATF. You are about to make a big mistake, but have at it.

Just so you know he spoke to me plenty before he got my money...that was 2 years ago. Now he will not return my call or answer my email. Others have reported the same experience. You have been warned.
