Hmmm, never noticed that.Nosler lists the lightest 25 cal bullet as the 85 BT. At 3600 fps MV it's only going 1585 fps at 800 yards.

You're making an assumption that jump matters - in this case it doesn't. The HH is somewhat like a cup and core bullet, but AH is cut so the first drive band is the first thing to engage. It's a bore rider, the engraving is all done in the shank. Jump doesn't matter in most varmint guns that shoot light for caliber bullets, it's the same concept with the light HHs. I can't get my 204 Ruger or 223AI to touch the lands with enough bullet in the neck to hold shooting really light bullets.Because I feel like an 85gr out of a huge case like the PRC is a mismatch. The jump would be pretty far I bet
I ran it through jbm's ballistics app. I used 3500 ft elevation @85 degrees. I must of reset the temp for my local temps. During his hunt I would guess around 40 degrees or less.Hmmm, never noticed that.

The other side is the point of the lower weight is more velocity to start with. You can send a lighter bullet fast enough that even shedding more velocity than a heavier bullet it gets to the animal with more than enough speed left to perform. KE doesn't matter, shedding the petals and punching through does. I run 200+ gn cup and core from an 8 twist 300 RUM, but my next Hammer with be a 124gn. Should be well north of 4000 FPS, MPBR out to 500 yards, fully expect it to drop deer the same as the 180HH in my 30-06.
I have been looking at them also I just haven't seen a lot of reports on them other than accuracy.I haven't taken animal with them yet but it's looking like I will be using them in my 338 NMI so hopefully sooner than later.
I am using the Lazer bullets.
Try 145 BH G7=.371 at 3100 FPS MV 3300 FT elevation for 800 yards and see what you get for FPS and KE.Nosler lists the lightest 25 cal bullet as the 85 BT. At 3600 fps MV it's only going 1585 fps at 800 yards.
Thats a bunch of BS from the anti-hunting, anti-guns liberal propaganda you guys have fallen for.Really, the best aspect about copper bullets is that they don't cause lead poisoning in Eagles .
It's meant as a joke Bud, we haven't fallen for anythingThats a bunch of BS from the anti-hunting, anti-guns liberal propaganda you guys have fallen for.
