Cheap Truck Gun set ups

That looks pretty good! To me a truck gun eats commercial ammo. I'll give up some POI consistency for ease of use. Maybe try some different stuff to see if it shows a preference?

I agree - I picked up that hornady black stuff for $14/box. I will keep feeding it to see if it has a preference. I ran it out to 500 yards and the scope tracked perfect, and my 5 shot group was about 1 1/2 moa at 500. I'll take that for this set up. That grendel is a blast to shoot. Recoil was somewhere between a 223 and 243, but really not noticeable.

Got her out to the range yesterday. Hornady black ammo was decent. I am sure I can tighten it up with some handloads.

Sub MOA with cheap factory ammo and a $600 set up is awesome. Looks like a winning combination.

I thought I read somewhere that the bolt on the ruger american has a tendency to open when slung over a shoulder - anybody heard that?

Ruger American bolt does not lock down in battery ....worthless.
TC Compass does have locking bolt....only way to go
