The current administration has nothing to do with it. The suppressor change came from a simple suggestion from someone not in ATF or government. If someone 's background had issues or their paperwork had problems, the whole line of applications stopped until it was resolved, and then they went to the next one. Someone asked why not set it aside and let someone else work that problem, and keep the main line moving. Que the light bulb moment. Now it is quick turn arounds because you don't have to wait for them to sort the dude that put wrong date of birth and misspelt everything.
For one they had to adopt it so they get credit for that. Secondly, they adopted an electronic filing system which sped up the process exponentially. As much as you want, you can't take that credit away from them. As much as we want to make believe that the government hates its citizens, its really about government bureaucracy that has caused all the issues. They hate change which I am sure some can relate to. Just look at the VA and getting approved for VA benefits. What a mess. They are either trying to save money by hoping the veteran dies before they have to give it to them or the BS bureaucracy has the system totally clogged up. Maybe it has changed in the last 10 years but when I dealt with them, all paper work sat on someone's desk for 6 months before anyone looked at it to make sure all t's were crossed and i's dotted. A simple mistake meant you were put at the bottom of the pile to wait another 6 months before review. If they had an electronic claims system like the private sector, vets would get their benefits within a day of being submitted by the va hospital. There is no excuse. Again, maybe something has changed in the last 10 years and its not that way anymore.
This is silly. You are doing everything possible to say the current administration had nothing to do with it when the ATF is under the current administration. The current head of the ATF was appointed by the current administration. This has all occurred under the current administration. From everything I have read, Ben Hiller is responsible for the quick approval times. I would think that if the current administration was against this happening then it would not have happened. Seems like they would love for anyone purchasing a firearm to go through this process so why not improve it. I am not saying that Biden approved it personally but his appointed head of the atf must have.

I simply said a non goverment person came up with an idea and ATF used it. Political parties doesn't matter and weren't involved. Everything I have read, Ben Hiller is responsible and he works for the atf and the atf is under the control of the administration which means it is not nonpartisan. Its controlled by whichever political party is in control. A political party has total control over this happening or not happening. Someone outside of the ATF may have put the bug in Hiller's ear but Hiller made it happen because he works for the ATF which again is controlled by whichever political party is in power. If he had kept it from happening or made it more difficult, I guarantee you that everyone would be blaming Biden and the democrats. In other words, who gets credit or blame is determined by who is in office.
