Carnivore diet ...

I would eat this type of meal for dinner, my wife cooks chicken with only salt in the convection oven. Wings are some of my faves. I also like thighs. My wife only buys bone-in thighs with skin on them. Then she cuts the bones out and uses them for chicken soup, and adds carrots, onions, celery, sometimes bok choy, but I will eat those simplex carbs. I will eat mushrooms on anything. I love steak smothered with mushrooms.

How about eating out? Any tips? I will stop at In-n-Out, they have a protein burger that doesn't have a bun, wrapped in lettuce. I will get that with light sauce. BBQ is always a good option, but not economical. I'm a sucker for 'que. I use a Weber Smokey Mountain with an old Stoker attached to it. When I can afford it, I'll buy a beef short rib plate and ask them not to cut the bones...I call them long ribs. I cook 'em like brisket.

I'm in good company here!:)

2 years ago I would have been eating gummies and other junk food when packing through the hills, but not these days. I do take a small 5x7 stainless grill in my pack, to cook some meat when I get game. ;)

I am relatively new to this diet and have not gone much to eat out. Last week, I volunteered at a local fundraiser, and we were fed sub sandwiches, sodas, and beer. I ate mine without the bread, made a salad from the veggie condiments, and just had a water bottle.

When I make my bone broth, I also add chicken cartilage. I save vegetable scraps and include them with the broth, too.

Here's one tip, when you're out. McDonalds has some of the worst food on the planet, I attribute it to why so many people are obese. But the one good thing they have is the beef. You can get 1/4lb. beef patties for $2/ea. They put them in a plastic tray over lettuce, most of the time. I've only gotten them a couple times. 3 of those will really fill me up, even 2 will tide me over nicely.

We also have El Pollo Loco, which is a flame grilled chicken. They will run specials for 8 pieces of thighs and legs for $12. That's a pretty good deal. If I have my rathers, it would be Marin Joe's for a NY Strip with the fat left on, smothered in mushrooms, and swiss chard with Parmesan...that's good stuff. They grill over hardwood lump, just like I do.

I don't eat out too often, to be honest. I seem to eat less when I eat carnivore.

(4 Mexican cheese chips topped with butter, sunny-side-up eggs, homemade bacon strips, and beef steak with garlic chili sauce).

I decided to go full carnivore for breakfast. 🤣

Congratulations ……8 hope that it continues to work for you!

My standard "go to " breakfast almost every morning is…..3 eggs over easy, bacon, a medium (or so) potato, all cooked in bacon grease. All chased -down with a large glass of Tang….I'm too cheap to buy OJ!

I could stand to lose 2" on the waist…..I just need to do more cardio!

D@#n the cholesterol …..breakfast is the most important meal of the day! memtb
Go chase coyotes on skis ⛷️ with the 375 strapped for cardio. 😃

For lunch, pork chop marinated in lemon-infused olive oil, freshly ground black pepper, Celtic salt, and Harissa spice blend, topped with homemade guacamole and English cucumber sprinkled with Tajin seasoning.
lol is that your plating? 🤣 or hers? 😂

I've been doing it for over a decade. It's how I keep low body fat without fighting myself.

Dr. Ken Berry has a lot of stuff on it. I do get bi annual labs done. I take creatine and over my body weight in grams of protein which is a little hard on the kidneys. Still safer than steroids.

Lastly, watch your cholesterol. Just cutting out carb surplus and sugar will start reducing fat. However, after a while your body will get used the eating that way. Just watch your cholesterol. Use egg whites instead of eggs, and try to balance poultry with fatting red meat. Game meat is a great option too.

That said if you're sedentary, I would consider switching off full carnivore to a ketovore diet every other week. That way you can get fiber with keeping net carbs way down.
Can you tell us more about your experience with Creatine? I see a lot of claims, would love real world input.

There's no claims. It works. It's the most studied supplement out there second to protein.

There is not too many supplements that are "legit" or necessary, but creatine is found naturally in animal products and is something that people would supplement to reach complete saturation if you don't eat like 4 pounds of meat a day.

That said, it makes my muscle look fuller, and gives the muscle energy. It starts to matter on a 3rd or 4th set as you burn out into hypertrophy for a complete work out.

It does run up my creatinine labs during routine checks; but I have no existing conditions that would make that a concern, and I've been doing this for well over 20 years and my kidneys work just fine.
