I would say the Barnes, I tried the hammers one year one three mule deer, only one was a drt, the other two required a second shot. That's why I moved on to the makers. So which one worked better?

Here's another question I'll pose to the group…
There seems to be two sub categories of monos.
1. Barnes maximum weight retention type
2. Fragmentation and full penetration type (Cutting edge, Hammer, etc.)
Who has experience with both types and which do you like better…and why?
They fracture at high speeds and muchroom at lower speeds. There designed to mushroom.
Those look awesome too.I don't think anyone has mentioned Patriot Valley solids. They have a really good B.C. for a copper. They have a 151 gr 7mm that I've seen kill all kinds of animals, including a Pronghorn my buddy shot at 800 yards with his 280 AI. Bullet performed flawless. They are more of the fragmenting tip style with the driving shank.
Here's a list I have compiled to share.All,
I have a few rifles that need load development. That being said, I'd really like to try some of the pricey boutique mono bullets offered nowadays. I've heard enough fan fare to convince me I should try some out. The first rifle I will work on will be a 7 REM Mag with a 1-9" twist barrel. The intended purpose for this rifle, will be general MT big game use. I'm thinking 6-800 yards max range.
That being said, I'm not sure which brand to try first. I have experience with Barnes and love them. I am not opposed to going with the 145 LRX, but I'm looking, really, to try the new stuff. I'm interested in Hammer and Cutting Edge bullets at the moment. I'm not opposed to other brands, I've just had my eye on the two list above for a while. Any other suggestions are welcome.

Stay your course on whatever bullet maker you want to try. Do not let anybody, including myself, talk you out of it. Good luck!Holy smokes @FEENIX !
