I have given away one boat and hopefully another within the week. Both are old and the money and work required to get them in shape wasn't worth it. Of course, with them both gone, I have space available and will be shopping for another.

And there are times and places where they are the best.
I have owned a 15' grumman for many years.
Bought it for one reason, it allowed me to get at some Quebec walleyes i wouldnt have gotten to without it.
This is how it goes for me, 1k doesn't get much in AK. I have a 32'x14' aluminum gillnetter with a John Deere main.I spell it BOATT bring out another ten thousand
Salmon fishing can get into your blood especially when you land a few like this each season. Like hooking the back of pickup truck. Hair over 32#.
I don't even bother buying a fishing license these days. With the attitude of other fishermen, I was starting to lose interest. Then came the encyclopedia of fishing rules and regulations you are supposed to remember (not at my age) or the books and books of new and old regulations governing what you can and can not do these days. Took all the fun out of it. Made staying home working on my boat more fun.

$1500 maintenance in 30 years? Just pay the bill and get back to catching those beautiful fish! It will quit hurting after about three big Chinook. Summer is here and life is short. Great pic! MT
Actually added in some more work I decided to do as PM and bill came to $1819 which with the amount of work thrilled with final number. Its a stout boat, engine and outdrive have prob 3 lifetimes on them but if you PM them, they can last long time!! Hoping to get out next week once my epidural shot tomorrow quiets my back down. Shoulder surgery April 1st and recently back has flared up badly. But can't wait to get back on water.!
Crazy at it sounds, if a person was to fish in our local river with a worm on a barbed hook and had his/her pockets stuffed with drugs, they can be cited for using bait and also cited for a barbed hook, the drugs are inconsequential.

I usually fish Frankfort every weekend from now until the end of August. Great Lakes Salmon fishing is just plain fun. Plenty of time to sleep during winter.
I was there last weekend but to fish for smallies in Crystal and Long. Next to kings, they are right there too!
