Best scope for the money

I have the Burris xtrii 4-20 illuminated mil/mil scr and it's great. I sold the rifle it was on. It's still in the ADM-Recon mount. I've moved it between two rifles and it does great. I'd let it go for $825. It's almost a year old

Go with a vortex or keep watch online sale forums. If you're willing to be patient you can sometimes find high end optics for cheap

I'm looking to get a new setup, my first thing looking for is my scope, Whats the best scope you can buy for $1000 , now if i have to wait for a used one to come around i will. i was looking at the Vortex Viper PST Gen2 5x25x50 , i will use it for some hunting and long range shooting, Thanks Guys
The VORTEX VIPER PST GEN2 5X25X50 MSRP is $999.99. Very nice glass for your build & it fits your budget.

I seriously wish someone would make a good 2-12 or 2-14 scope
I totally agree with you sir. 95% of the time I'm on 12x. In my opinion that's THE SWEET SPOT! I'll crank er up to 20x at 1000 yards, 25x at 1500yards, after that I open her up to 32x. But for the most part, and most of my shots, 350 to 800 yards I just LOVE 12X.

shooting at an elk is like taking a shot at a volkswagon. I would not shoot at one more then 400 yds. I can hit man sized torso target at 600 yds with my M1A with issue irons. I would still use a scope for hunting elk but not one for $2K-4K. I f I was a millionaire I would not spend that much lol
if you could shoot that good why are you saying you wouldn't take an Elk at 400 yards? Are you afraid that your cartridge won't preform or it doesn't have the energy to do the job? I'm here to tell you you need to get in your ballistics section and compare the weight of your bullet, to like let's say a 357 magnum or 44 magnum. And you will see that your gun is more than capable, if these rounds would do the trick at point blank range. It time to think out side the box.
