Best brass for 300 WSM ?????

I used Winchester to form all of my wildcats on 300WSM back in the day, 25, 26, 33 & 35.
Went to Norma when it became available and still use it to this day.
Have planned on trying Lapua, but still haven't dropped the coin yet on it.

Cheers.

The top three are Norma, Lapua, ADG.

ADG has the most case capacity followed by Lapua then Norma. All three shoot great, I would give the accuracy edge to Lapua, Norma, ADG in that order. All three are super tough, and it really takes a lot of pressure to wreck a piece of brass.

On my 300WSM, been reloading and shooting it since about 2006. I have used Winchester, Federal nickel plated, Nosler, Norma and now I have a new batch of Lapua. Here is my experience, your mileage may vary!

Winchester has the most reloads on it at 11/12, just had first two head separations.

Federal nickel probably has 12 plus reloads, no brass failure and I can see some of the nickel fading out. I have retired them.

Nosler was the worst with case head separations after three reloads, they have all been retired and I used some for dummy rounds.

Norma, I got 5 reloads and now have a 20% plus failure rate due to case stretching and some head separations. Had someone tell me they were not surprised as Norma was a softer brass.

Lapua, we shall see.

Several years ago I did a velocity test across the spectrum of brass I reloaded. The Federal brass was on the low end of the velocity spread, next was Winchester, followed by Nosler and then Norma. The difference was about 50-55 fps with Federal/Winchester as the slowest and Norma the fastest. Each brand of brass definitely had their node. Never had pressure signs until I switched to a suppressor. After the switch to a suppressor I reevaluated my loads and adjusted to eliminate the signs.

I anneal after every two firings, bump shoulders back 2/1000 and check cases after each reload.
