You know, if we want to be pedantic, there's always a way to frame something that will negate what someone else says.
I'm not talking about an
80 year old bullet, compared to todays bullets. (yes that's how old the partitions are) We aren't talking about 80 years. We're talking about 10 years. Really we're only talking about 1 year. Because until a
very short while ago, I don't recall gunwerks saying anything negative about berger bullet performance. If you can find a source that says otherwise, I'd happily consider it.
I'm talking about bullet designs from berger that have not changed, and are still considered to be the apex of bullet design and performance by a huge number of people in the industry, which were designed within the last 15years (or newer)... compared to the ELD M/X and Atip, which are in some instances, barely a year or two old.
The berger designs that gunwerks praised, are still considered to have no equal by some. Where as what they are promoting now, is as "unproven" as bullets can be, because they are so new that hardly anyone actually has experience with them. It takes more than a couple seasons to compare bullets honestly.
Though it takes 5 minutes to form a new business relationship. It's not wrong, but the consumer should use their head a little bit. I have smacked more big game animals with a berger 7mm 180gr hybrid straight out of the box than anything else, and to date it has produced the most decisive kills of any bullet I've used in my life. It's going to take more than a couple years for me to find a replacement, and there's no guarantee that I will be able to.
Gunwerks is in a position to shoot many more animals per year for testing than I... but still, it's going to take more than 1 season I think.
