Berger 245 EOL Best Cartridge

I want to build a rifle to shoot the Berger 245 EOL. I've read lots of old threads on the subject, but they were from last year when the bullet was new. Now that the bullet has been out (and unavailable lol) for awhile, is there any consensus on what the best cartridge is for these bullets. I've shot some 245s at 2694 fps from my win mag and see reports of nearly 3000 fps with larger cases. I'm looking at the rum and prc the most, but will consider anything really. All the options on 30 cal magnums is kind of overwhelming. I'd like to keep the barrel length on the shorter side - 24" or maybe 26" max. Wind drift is my primary concern in ballistics. It's easy to adjust for gravity. What would you chamber it in? Why? What velocity would you expect? Barrel twist?

Thanks!
How about a necked down German 88 mm artillery case for 10 K FPS. approx...............378 Weatherby case,

I have a 26" 30 Sherman Mag with a plus P throat shooting the 245 gr Berger with N570 accurately at 2960 fps. It's too close to pressure to shoot over 3000 fps but it is pretty close. A similar load with my 300 PRC with a plus P was accurately shooting the 245 gr Berger at 3016 fps. Both are light rifles with carbon fiber wrapped barrels.
Plus P is a good set up. When you do that though, its like increasing capacity, as far as pressure goes, so you have to load 2-3 grains more than before. If you load a Sherman with plus p, you need to do the same or you have will less velocity than before you changed the throat.

So did you shoot the 30 Sherman mag before you did the +P on it? Just kinda wondering if the +P doesn't have much effect on the 30 SM . With my limited dealing with them a 24" and 27" barrel it's about right in there for a standard 30 SM . My 27" is At 2980fps and the 24" is at 2900 fps with n570 and 245 eol.

300 RUM 26-27" barrel 1/8 twist. You will get all the good out of that particular bullet without a lot of overbore which will give you longer barrel life. Velocity should be right at or just over 3000+fps.

The PRC won't give you much if anything over the Win Mag and anything else larger would require a bolt change or modification.

For max velocity from a standard type action, make a single feed 300 RUM. If you want a repeater, standard type action, with max velocity, and don't mind a semi wildcat, do a 30 Sherman Magnum (300 PRC improved). If your ok with getting a custom action and want a repeater, then make a 300 Norma. If you don't mind fireforming or wildcats, and your ok with a custom action, and want top velocity, get a 300 Norma Mag improved. If you don't mind a custom action, don't mind possibly single feeding, and want all out top performance, make either a 30-338 Lapua improved. Also on a larger action, 30-378 Weatherby is an option if you don't mind Weatherby cartridges.
☝🏼My 30 Sherman is pushing the 250 ATips at 2980 while fire forming the PRC brass. I will work up loads for 245 and 230/250 ATips once the fireforming is done and shoot whichever is tighter. Should be well above 3000 pushing 3100 when all is said and done.

I'm not

I'm not familiar with the Ackley cartridges, other than hearing their name.
The standard Ackley treatment is to minimize wall taper and blow the shoulder forward to 40°. The base of the neck is usually set tight on the parent cartridge so they fire form in place better - it headspaces on the base of the neck.

That 30 SM is less wall taper and 40° instead of 30° like the original PRC. Those two things give more case volume and usually less stretch to the case. It also masks pressure since the case doesn't get pushed as hard back. The bolt itself doesn't see the pressure either so arguably more pressure would be easier on the lugs too with that design. The barrel and chamber still see the increased pressure though they are usually fine to much higher levels. With top quality brass the increased pressure is probably ok but it's still there.
