Bass pro shop has bought out sportmans warehouse !

That's the worst news I've heard today. You guys are right about Sportsmans Wearhouse, the best reloading department of all the big box outdoor supply stores. Dedicated to our "Sportsman's" needs. All the great gear in Fishing, Camping, Hunting, and the clothing & footwear to go with it. Never found anything in Bass Pro I would buy. They opened a store about 30 miles south of me back in about 2007 and I visited 3 times for
reloading supplies and looking at other gear. All I found was junk and never gone back, Who owns BassPro?
I wonder if that *** from Utah RINO Romney has anything to do with them. His career specialty is Corporate
takeovers, riding the competition, layoffs, and shutdowns.

You are sooo !! Right !!! romney is the biggest *^^%$# mistake Utah has ever made .

I hate to hear that bass pro shop has boyght out sportsmans warehouse .They by far had the most reloading and ammo in their stores .They never sold any junk either .I always found what I was looking for when I lived in Alaska in their stores .Bass pro ruined cabelas clothsband other gear when they took them over too .I hate to see just one store owning all the sporting good and shooting supplies it's easier to lose the whole thing and they usually get their prices way higher .The people working at sportmans really knew their stuff too !

I have never liked BP. Before Cabelas was bought out, I carried a Cabelas credit card with pride. When BP bought out Cabelas I cancelled the card and cut it up with a pair of scissors.
I hate to hear this...SW was the best, my local one was Roanoke , VA...a great store.
BUY LOCAL from LOCAL GUN SHOPS

There is always Midway, Sportsmans Guide, Natches, and a few others, I know that's "mail order- internet stuff" but it's not all bad.

It looks like Scheels is the last man standing. Privately / employee owned. Wish we had some out East. Rumor has it they are looking at Western New York.

I've heard really good things about Scheels.
This buyout of SW will make it tougher for them to compete and it wouldn't surprise me to see attempts to fold them into the BP brand in the years to come.

In the Vegas area we have two SW and one BP... wonder if they will keep all of them open. The BP is a destination store for folks visiting Vegas. They are very busy, espically on the weekends. Everyother car in the parking lot is from California. The SW stores are for the locals. I won't be surprised if the close down one of the SW stores. Every time I have been in the Henderson store it has been empty and I couldn't find a SW sales person. Sad...

Scheels is the place to go now. So nice that they have most of their guns out on the floor where you can shoulder them without asking a guy at the counter to hand them to you! Haven't been to Cabelas in about a year and really don't miss it.

Wow, Basspro isn't that bad. There reloading section is limited but they offer ample supply of Christensen, Fierceand Kimber firearms as well as Glock and FN and many others. Many of the employees offer great help and yes some answer questions based on their limited knowledge or stubborn beliefs, but what large retailer has everything perfect. I dont go to any retail store to learn, I go to purchase what I know I want.

And hey, I work work at Basspro in Rancho Cucamonga California in the Firearms department and I can tell you that Basspro has gone way out of it's way to facilitate the craziest environment of this 2020 Covid-election year insanity.

Anyway your opinions are what they are I just thought I'd chime in with another perspective....lol
My experience at the gun counter is the guy acted like he knew about the guns I was asking about but really didn't know diddly. Hopefully they do have some people with some knowledge, but sure soured me.
