I finally got a day off and some great South Texas weather (started at 40 and warmed up to 70) so I took the East Ridge Gun Co Rebel out to the 1000 yard range. I swapped scopes so I had to start at 100 and work out to 1000. Ended up shooting 60 rounds through it and proved that it does not like the cheap (for 50 BMG) PMC ammo. The Barrett ammo shot better but I did not get time to try the Hornady ammo.

It's satisfying hearing that 660 grain bullet hit steel art 1000. It's also satisfying punching holes through steel plate at 300, 400 and 500 yards.

If anyone in the Houston area needs some 50 BMG PMC ammo, I'll make you a deal on several boxes.

What a great plinking caliber!!!! lol
That was about $250 in ammo but I only do that once or twice a year. Some people have large plinking funds than I do.

I got to shoot the M82 Barrett when I was in the Air Force in the early 90's It was nice when I did not have to worry about ammo cost. We did not use it for anything past 200 yards but it was fun to shoot although heavy. I do not think I can afford to shoot a semi-auto 50 BMG now that I am paying for ammo.

I was hoping the PMC would shoot well since it is the cheapest at about $4 a round. But it would get a couple reasonably close then have a few fliers out 12" at 100 yards. I need to try the Hornady to see how it shoots.
