Bass pro shop has bought out sportmans warehouse !

That sucks bad. Cabelas went to crap after bass pro bought them out.
When the very first Bass Pro opened in Alberta Canada it was a Three hour drive so I waited five months before I had another reason to go. When I got there I would say easily...50% of their selves were empty. When they bought Cabela's, within weeks 50% of their shelves were too. I chewed the management team in Edmonton a brand new orifice...and told them I would not be back after the third trip and getting nothing I went for. Took me 18 months before I went back!

If you all are really bothered by this don't give them your MONEY! They are this large because people keep giving them MONEY! This coming from a small business owner. You want to save a dollar here and there and hurt the little guy and help the large corporations. Then get on here and complain. This is all your faults. I keep seeing how you all keep saying it used to this way or that way. It is this way now because of the choices you made in spending your money. Midway, Sinclair, Graf these are not corporations these are regular people doing their best to compete against the big box. If you use these stores you are part of the problem. Just accept the damage you all have done. We have both of those stores where I live. I am more of a avid bass fisherman than a shooter and I still won't give them a dime. When they buy a bait company I change baits. Maybe it's the mind of a small business owner that has opened my eyes to the truth about business in America where you can buy your way into or out of just about anything You want.

I don't spend a dime at cabelas anymore. Haven't for a couple years. If I get a gift card I will spend that much and that's it. There are more clothes and stupid crap there than hunting and fishing stuff.

No, they just bought enough stock to take control of it. The FTC will be looking at this. They took a hard look at the Cabelas purchase. This one might put it over the top with the FTC.
Yah, of course. And Trump will be rightfully inaugurated in January. Wishful thinking. I so wish it were true!

I haven't read all the posts, so this may be repetitive, but with the shut down's from Covid19 , a great many walk-in businesses are being sold or shutting down. I don't believe one can blame Bass Pro ( Great American Outdoors Group) totally for the problems Cabela's developed during 2020.

From what I read on-line, Great American Outdoors Group, which already owns Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's, White River Marine Group and nature-based resorts, paid $18.00 in cash per share to buy Outdoor Warehouse. The stock has reportedly increased 37% since the announcement. Doesn't mean it will stay that course, but can only hope.

The Email I received from sportsman was that they merged for more buying power and will remain a independently run company. I really hope thats the case I also prefer sportsman over cabelas and bass pro. I really wish they would put one in charlotte or north charlotte area.
I believe that is almost exactly the same language they used when they bought Cabela's. I knew that was never going to be the case/last.
