Which vices are good at removing rem 700 factory barrels

I use Viper with heavy saddle leather wrap.
Gotta tighten the s*** out if it, but it does the job without scratches.

I use a PMA very similar to the viper. You may want to heat up the tenon area it will help some

I picked one up a couple years ago from Grizzlies, it works. You need to protect the metal as others mentioned. Larry Potterfield of Midway has videos.

I use the Short Action Customs Bravo vise with a piece of drywall joint tape wrapped around the barrel for added grip and to protect the finish.

from my experience on factory barrels on a Remington 700 action besides a good barrel vise you need to make sure you have a good heavy duty action wrench , either internal or external wraparound, and even a 3 foot long cheater bar. It takes about 200 pounds of pressure to break one loose. Heating it up definitely helps.

Post pics if you like! I've been reading reviews about barrel vises and the issues the reviewer's are having. Some state they don't get enough holding/clamping pressure/force due from either the bushings are slipping, not quit the best fit/contact barrel-bushing or bushing-vise. Some have...

I have one I made like a wheeler. Recently started using a hydraulic shop press like the ones from harbor freight for my swaps with wood blocks and old boot leather wrap for my barrel swaps. Works great!

I haven't broken a factory Remington 700 action with it but this one grips extremely well and isn't overly expensive.
