Barrel break in true or not?

F-Class shooter told me a button barrel settles in faster than a cut barrel. This true?

I have never seen a hammer forged barrel ,which the Remingtons are ,look like that

Oh, my mistake. I thought ruger was the hammer forger. That scope picture was one of my savage barrels. It didnt shot very well.

My CA rifle took 1545 rounds down the tube to finally break in so I wouldn't see pressure.

Ive shot a group out of a new barrel (300 Ultra Mag Remington stainless) at 500 yards after a few down the tube to get my zero at 200...so lets say 5 shots before the 500 yard group....then shot 6 3 round groups dry patch and scrub at the end....reshot 3 shot group at 500 yard...and wow what a difference...Ok I lied pretty much the same group...maybe a little better but was it worth the 60 bucks for the box of shells I shot...I think not...I dont have a bore scope so couldnt tell you how it looked before and after...I love shooting long range but not a bench shooter...Most of my paper shooting is off the back of my tailgate on a lead sled between morning and evening hunts....so that makes me a dedicated long range shooter right?? lol

I guess my answer to the original question would be, yes.
I do a 20 shot breakin regime.

I have a shillen and after the 20 round break in I could not get the groups below 1 1/4". AT 75 rounds, i took it back to the gunsmith and he gave it the evil eye and told me try it some more. At 125 rounds a couple of 1" groups popped up and at 175 rounds groups were averaging 3/4". At just over 200 rounds it was printing 1/2" 5 shot groups pretty regularly. This particular barrel just needed more shots!!

Thats nice ink but dont think the beamer will pull the 16000 lb toyhauler loaded to the nuts to the mountains...I was a Ram man for years (love the cummins motor) until they borrowed a ton of money from the goverment....went to Ford that year and havent looked back...have a great day...

When a Barrel is Chambered, the "Throat Area", HAS Minor "Burrs" from, the Reamer and Un-Less, Polished / Lapped, that area can be, Problematic and, "can" accumulate,.. Carbon and Copper ( It's NOT,.. "Rocket Science" ).
Sometimes, "Shooting" solves, the "Burr Issue",.. sometimes,.. NOT !

I would call that a bad barrel.

A lot of what people have been complaining about seems to be chambering issues

I've had two Christensen's and both shot groups similar to my Remington 870. Never again

ive done load work on half dozen. Most shoot but all have problems. I wont touch another one for anyone
