Backpack Rifle Choice???

Look at a TC Encore. Light weight and available in just about every popular caliber and very accurate. Buy a new barrel and use it for other stuff.

A Tikka T3 Lite in 223the would only weight a little over 6the pounds, be extremely accurate out of the box, and has a fast enough twist to be a contender with heavy vld bullets down the road.

That's a great idea and peaked my interest. I hadn't thought about a new rifle until your brought that up. Since the price is very reasonable for a Tikka, I might have to try that. Thanks.
