Being from the North East, Elk hunting is a once in a lifetime opportunity. It has been on my "bucket list" for a long time. The problem with these type of hunts, by the time you can afford it, you're over 50 years old, out of shape, etc, etc.

I've been looking around for a while, but didn't like the idea of packing in on a horse, or camping out for a week. And then packing out, hopefully with meat. It just didn't sound realistic sitting in front of a computer all day long, and then spending a week in the wilderness. This hunt sounds perfect that "you're into Elk when you set foot on the ranch"

Obviously being from 2500 miles away, & not experienced, I need a fully guided hunt. Someone that will field dress, and get the meat out of the woods, and over to a processor, etc, etc.

I also like the fact that Dan is starting a new business, trying to promote it, build a reputation. I see his name on another web site, trying to promote, and I appreciate that.

I will certainly let you all know how it works out !

I didn't even see this thread until now...or I would have been bidding myself...Much like you, its been my dream since I was a teenager to hunt elk (I'm 41 now)...at least once...preferably more

Well, the time has come for a big announcement! I figured this thread would be a good place to do it since many of you have been following the auction and the trail camera photos.

I am very excited to announce a couple of major acquisitions for the ranch.

First, check out the accommodations page on my website. I have acquired the property adjacent to the ranch which contains an excellent hunting lodge. This lodge has all of the amenities that a hunter could ask for during their stay. In addition to the lodge, the property contains a walk-in big game cooler! We can store your meat in ideal conditions to ensure that it is well taken care of. We purchased the land and lodge to be the future home for all of our hunters.
There are pictures and a description of the lodge on my website.

Second, I have picked up a substantial amount of hunting ground starting this year. This is leased ground that will be in addition to the ranch that we own. We will have exclusive access to thousands of acres of private hunting ground that is prime habitat for elk and deer. More details will be placed on our website in the next few weeks.

I am not changing our prices for 2014 despite these additions. Therefore, we have more openings for this year. Feel free to contact me or reply to this thread if you have any questions.

The weather can be extremely variable in October. It can be absolutely beautiful and fairly warm. Or, if the weather decides not to cooperate, you could be hunting in snow. Make sure you are prepared for both cases.
