Atlas bipods: what am I missing?

I own and use the Harris, Atlas, and Evolution bipods. They all work, and will get the job done, and I don't believe a difference would have been made using one over the other with any of the LR game I have taken. Each has its own particular features and design attributes, that attract individual shooters. I have never had any of them fail while hunting, or in PRS competition.

I keep coming back around to the Harris, the Atlas and a couple other similar designs really throw a lot of vertical for me and how I shoot, I can make it work but it's just not as repeatable especially on magnums that your wanting to recoil and control it over the top of the arc.

Would you mind explaining what you found works best for you when using the Harris bipod?

Well, it simple; quality, engineering, and manufacturing standard, when you pay $90.00 for one and $350 for another' regardless of what you're talking about ...it has to do with the aforementioned., I'm not giving Harris bad marks I'm just giving Altas better marks. I have both in many of their models, and it's just my 0.2.... if you try both I'm sure you'll find the same thing I did. Cheers.

You aren't giving me specifics. Price doesn't always mean better. Not against trying both, but I'm wanting specifics.

The specifics for me are in my environment,the legs adjusting,backwards as well as independent makes it more adaptable.Ive set up on a round log,one leg forward,one leg back.I run a rail with qd , in case I have swing on bear,rail has light when its 4am in grizz basin.And im on way up Like everthing,think price is high,so mine is rotated.

I am about to buy an atlas but can't find the info to figure which one I need. I don't have a rail on the primary rifle it is for but I would like to use it on my AR too.

Look at reviews.I have the basic tilt pan,with QD.Get rail and can move around.Mine 10oz carry it in a radio bag on my hip. There was one on classifieds yesterday,$200,lasted 2 hrs

My next will by TBAC but Harris has been bombproof for me and nothing wrong with it. I don't know what y'all are doing with a Harris that makes you say they're not durable, mine has been through a lot and keeps on doing what it's supposed to do.

This was my big question. How can you be repeatable with any recoiling rifle if the legs are not in the same starting spot every time. Probably something I'm missing, but just doesn't make sense to me.

It you see a bipod break at a batch it tends to be a Harris but then again it is cheap for a reason.

Can't help but think those bipods that are breaking are cheap harris knockoffs(there are a lot of these out there). I have beat the living heck out of my harris bipods and they keep going.

When Harris patent ran out a number of years ago everyone knocked them off- cheap. They were all junk. I have run Harris for 35 years and never broken one. I have had them fall down mountains, horses roll on them and most any other problem encountered. I still have my original one. I have been using my shorty lately and it has been really nice. I have a Spartan that was stupid expensive and it is just too loose. I prefer the Harris over the $375 Spartan.

I'm trying to compare to my 9-13s with s lock($8) and spikes(free). Lots of rocky high country or high desert usually 650ish yard shots.

OK... here's the deal. I understand you're looking for useful information on the product(s) and it's value to me or whoever in the field. It would take a "white paper" on my part I'm sure to provide you the information you're seeking, which I just don't have the time to do, I'm not selling either manufactures bipod'..., and I don't have a dog in the fight'..., I have both in many different models "I" picked the Atlas'... because'..., for my needs they work better, they're just plain stronger and have more useful features, if you need specifics on those features, contact Atlas I'm sure they'd be more than happy to work with you on making an informed decision for a future purchase. I want the best gear, regardless of price. I won't buy the most expensive unless it offers more
