That's the frustrating part. Did a 200+ yd high shoulder shot since I needed to anchor it on the spot due to logistics. The deer shoved right over - as in tipped over, not the buckling legs style. Never wiggled. Saw the impact and observed "something" flying straight up directly over the shoulder at least 6' and settle back down. Assumed it was hair, but due to the circumstances of the deer drive and location I was not able to go and do a visual check at the time. I had a critical appointment that afternoon and was forced to leave the field before the guys went down to pick up the deer along with others later with a truck. It was cold and dark when they processed the animals and they didn't have the personal interest in those conditions to research and document anything. I was unable to do any visual myself but they claimed an exit out the back ham. I think they got the deer mixed up on the truck, but will never know for sure. Still hate that wasted opportunity and the hanging questions. Nothing solid enough to make any claims IMO. Have never seen that happen in any other deer impacts, even on bone, with the same combination. So far, everything expired quickly enough to suit me, even in ribcage/lung impacts only. (I know its a crazy story.)
