Anyone hunting in the heat?

Heading to Georgia Thursday for archery hunt, haven't looked at the temps yet, but expect it to be warm as usual this time of year. I hunt from an elevated box blind wearing shorts. I'll wear leafy wear with t-shirt underneath, light gloves and facial covering. Firm believer in breaking up outline even in the box blind with warmer temps.
If I do shoot, go back to the house for clothes sprayed with permithian for the recovery.
Sorry, cant help you with the motivator. Heat is hard to get by, just keep drinking and hydrated while out.
 
Agree that here in the South Carolina late summer/early fall heat (90's in the daytime) makes sweat inevitable. To my surprise, the Ozonics ozone generator works incredibly well. I had a big doe 10 yds under my bow stand, and she never knew I was there. That's incredible in my experience.

You ought to come here in Arizona and visit us. 115 degrees. BUT, it's a "DRY HEAT"! (That always cracked me up. Heat is Heat and Hot is Hot.[I do know humidity makes it a whole bunch more miserable (Remembering Viet Nam) but I'm always pleased to see the cool fall temps and even the cold winter temps. You can always put on clothes but you can only take off soi many!
 
I live in Lexington Ky and it's been too hot to hunt. Went out opening day didn't see anything. Just waiting for the weather to cool off. Don't like sitting in the stand sweating my butt off. Hope it cools off soon need to be in the woods.
 
Our first bear season came in this past Saturday. It wasn't to hot in the morning but did warm up a bit in the afternoon here in Wv . Not exactly sure but I'd say we kissed 80 degrees. Did get two bears amongst the group we hunt with. First one was roughly mile and a half from the nearest road. Took almost an hr for everyone that had dogs on it to get in there .Second one was only 600 yards straight down the mountain from the road . It's been drizzling on and off all morning hopefully it will cool down a little more for the rest of the weeks hunting.

I live in Tennessee and have not bow hunted in four years because of the heat

Feel the same way brother! I read an older book about deer hunting when I was younger (the authors name escapes me) and I remember something the author said that has really "bothered" me ever since. It went something like this...."Any hunter that doesn't take advantage of every opportunity to deer hunt regardless of the weather must admit that his love for comfort is GREATER than his love of the hunt". I've really struggled with that particular passage ever since I read it....
 
Deputy 819, I live in Nevada so yeah, I've already had my "hunting in the heat" experiences. No fun!

So when you realize that the last 8 years has seen the FIVE highest recorded global average yearly temperatures, that sea levels are rising ever faster and that glaciers are melting ever faster you gotta say to yourself, "What presidential candidate will take global warming seriously?" "Which candidate is truly concerned about mass species extinction due to climate change?"
Keep that in mind and talk to your state game biologists about it to get their take on what is happening and WHY it is happening to our climate. I speak as one who taught environmental studies for 25 years so know a bit about the topic. And what scares me is that what is happening now in terms of rising global temperatures, sea acidification, etc. was not supposed to begin happening until 2050 AT THE EARLIEST!

Well even though it is pretty warm my son just sent me a text saying he killed a bear this morning. And I'm in Ohio working so now what the poop. Hopefully the guys he's with can steer him in the right direction.
