My daughter shoots the heck out of a Rem 700 25/06 loaded with Retumbo and a 115 Bergers.
Of my four favorite calibers the .25-06 is one of them.Anyone here fans of the 25-06?
Oh , I forgot guys also one 25-06 in an tc encore with 28" barrel ziess 3x9 scope , my original 25-06The 25-06 is the most over looked deer and antelope caliber on the planet , period . A friend on mine introduced me to this caliber years ago . I now have a Winchester model 70 sporter in the 25-06
Jasper 2017 hunting turkey s with a rife (come on man) turkey hunters don't do thatFirst time I seen a 25-06, a guy was hunting turkeys at about 400yds, I had to have one, so I had a custom one made on a Interarms Mark X action with a 24" Shilen barrel. I had it for over 20 years, reloaded 120gr Remington core-lokts and killed a ton of deer with it. The longest shot was a little over 300yds. Remington stopped selling the core-lokts so I switch to Hornady 120 gr hollow points, that gun would shoot dime size groups all day long. I still have a lot of load data if anybody is interested.
Bought a nice used mountain rifle in 2506....last loads I made were 110acc....bug holer.....gave it to my son to grow with....he outshot me with it....which I guess isnt in itself real funny...because at 14 he outshot me with my 65284 at 600yd too......
But now he won't shoot or hunt....collecting dust....

... 131 Black Jack has a .630 ish BC.
I agree, I too think the 25 s will make a comeback if we can just get another 2-3 high BC bullets from the manufacturers.

They do in West Texas.
All you have to do is wait at the corn feeder long enough.
Been there, done that.
