We are warned about subtle differences from one lot to another with most reloading components . Did you have a large quantity of components of the same lot ? If you don't mind me asking what is your Load, could there be a tamp sensitivity issue ( you having used this load forever ) i'm probably way off . I just hate things that just dosen't make sense.I've been shooting this load in my rifle for several years it is proven,but after coyote hunting the other day I noticed this.It is the one and only time I've ever seen it happen.View attachment 311037
Yeah brother your load seems to me to be right there were it should be have you always used these primers ? I too have a 6.5x284 that just got a new criterion barrel 26 in. 1-8 twist and am looking for load that she likes. If I can get my hands on some RL 23 i'll give your load a try !

Only time I've seen that was on a none fire that went off on third try. Not sure why it took three try's but that's what primer looked like.Thanks guys, I don't have a clue myself that's why I was asking I was just curious If anyone had run into this situation before
