Another Christensen Rifle Story......

I have a CA Classic in 338 Lapua. I had a similar issue to yours, although mine did not have any issues with factory ammo at all. I had issues with reloads using 1x fired brass. I would get stuck brass even though I was using loads that showed no other signs of pressure and they were way below book max. I had some similar marks on my brass, too. Found out it was a rough chamber that had a couple burs in it. My gunsmith polished them out and problem was solved. The rifle shoots sub moa all day long, so I cannot complain about that. My issue with CA was their customer service. They told me it would be a waste of my time to send the rifle in to them since it shot factory ammo without any issue and that's what they base their tests on.

I wonder if C.A owns a borescope or for that matter uses it or knows what there looking at.

I had the similar issue with a 30 Nosler I built a friend. The factory ammo would rub the bolt face and the bolt was hard to close. I sent the reamer and gauge back to Manson along with a live factory round. He said all were within spec but the ammo was at max spec and the go gauge was at the lower end of spec. If I pulled a bullet from the live ammo and FL sized it then it would chamber fine.

I was thinking of a very nice Christensen on the wall at the local shop. After reading this I think I'll keep looking. Thank you guys. On another note, my experience with Cabela's customer service has been exceptional on several occasions. I don't buy much high end stuff there unless it's on sale, but customer service has been very good with any problems. One caution, their bargain cave stuff does not carry the same warranty.
