I also got some 90's for mine I ya e a 28" tube to gets things moving and thanks to bean gonna try 6.6 staball.

I ya r tried them. I was able to get a full gr more powder xbr in without over pressure from my 99gr hammer. But I needed more room. Recently picked up some rl10 which is 85 percent fill as opposed to 106 for xbr and is a bit faster. Haven't had time to run them yet as a new house has me swamped.
I can tell you that I'm not pushing the 99's hard at all at 2780 FPS out of a 18" barrel and I will never be going back to eld after seeing first hand how much better they are on large deer, hogs and audad. I've been able to take over 50 animals with them and they are stellar. Hoping the 97 gets more speed which looks like I will based on it had less pressure than the 99's just ran out of case with xbr
Thx for that info. I ll have to try the 97's when we can buy powder at will .
in this political climate and retirement right around the corner , in this next yr we will be moving to WY . I have been slowly building a house there for the last 10 yrs . The grendel has served me well here in ny wooded hunting . In wy and open shooting ill be looking for a lil more speed .
i have bigger cals to reach out with hi BC loadings.
my goal with grendel is coyotes with a thermo scope. So flatter is better in my mind for that.

Mr. Willfrye , have you done anymore work on the 151 AH in your 30-06 ? could you also tell me where you are at OAL . I am working with the 300 SM Lazzeroni Patriot 162 AH and will get on the 06 as soon as I work load up for the short mag. Any additional info will be appreciated for the 06.

Thank you Sir , F.K.
I'm sticking with the load i worked up earlier using Varget. Confirmed it's shooting 3/4 moa and moving 3130 on a few different range trips. This is from a pretty short barrel factory tikka. And it's over a grain below pressure just to be safe. My OAL was set just so it would fit in the magazine...somewhere about 3.34". It probably will work fine at whatever OAL you choose I don't think they're very jump sensitive

Thank you Sir , I am seeking Sta-ball 6.5 and 8208-XBR to try but no luck yet . I will post any load data for your potential future loads when we get back to the 06 work ups. I'm already out to 3.42 with my prong horn white tail load but expect to run the A.H's longer . Am modifying
the magazine now to make the 06 a repeater I hope.

F.K.

I was able to get out and shoot yesterday and reached 3500fps with 90ah in a 25-06 with 55.8 gen's of imr 4451 - 3.183 oal which put it right in between the first groove as I was considering a light crimp in the future. No pressure so will load higher. Also started the 160 hh's in 300wsm and again under estimated pressure with 69gn's of staball 3155 fps 2.880 oal. Will post results when I get done. I was surprised at how poi doesn't change much if any. I was shooting 2 shot groups and many were touching and a couple 1 hole groups out of the 300wsm tikka light model. Not sure how much further I can go with staball before compression. Very impressed as I was at 700' near the coast in Washington and usually pressure out early. Never seen ladders group that good before.

Here's another on I got done last week

270AI
26" 10 Twist Heavy Sporter
116 Absolute Hammer
Winchester Brass .003 neck tension
LEE FCD 1/8th turn
CCI 200
61.5g H4350
COAL 2.275 ( seated to the last bearing groove)
3519 fps
SD 4.5
ES 9

I got to 3586 but it was way hot, If I can find some Peterson Brass I feel sure I can push in to the 3600 without any trouble

Bean, interesting you mentioned Peterson brass...Something I have not given a lot of thought to with these bullets. Since the goal is to push em a bit, what are the best brass brands for toughness and I'm guessing tough primer pockets? Peterson, ADG, nosler, norma, lapua, etc...????

Steve said he was getting more out of Petersen brass when he did the load development for his 280 AI and the 140 Absolute. I think he said he got 100 fps more out of it compared to Nosler brass.

As GL mentioned they are all good but I personally have gotten the most out of Petersen Brass and Petersen Primer Pockets will take more abuse than anything I have used
