Absolute Hammer load data

Just my luck! What would you suggest for the 155's. I do have RL25 and some IMR 7828 that's not being used for anything important right now. Thanks again........................JR

I have a 26 nosler 8 twist 26", IMR & H 4350, IMR & H 4831,IMR 7828 ssc, Rl 26, and H 1000. I have 123 gr and 129 gr. AH, where should I start?

Been following this thread since it started. I picked up a Christensen Mesa in 28 Nosler for a New Years present for myself and am just finishing up the break in process. It shoots the factory Hornaday Precision Hunters with the 162 ELD-x in a cloverleaf . Been dabbling with some 169 Hammer hunters that shoot well but like everyone else my powder selection is quite limited, all I really have for that weight of bullet is Retumbo. I ordered some of the 155 Absolute Hammers that should be here by the weekend hoping I could use some H1000 behind the lighter pill. Anyone try this combo and have a good starting load. I looked in the Nosler load data and they have a starting load for 150's @ 74.5 grains and maxes out @ 79.3. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.......................JR
I'm running the 172 Absolutes in my 7 STW with RL26 Do you have any of it?
H4831 may work well. It's what I was considering using if RL26 didn't work out.

So I got to do some additional testing with the 123gr AH in an 18" and a 26" 6.5 PRC, I also included my test data from last September using my 24" Proof for comparison.

123gr AH
New ADG Brass
StaBall 6.5
Fed 210M
Lee FCD set to the second notch

58gr
18" - 3079
24" - 3244
26" - 3256

58.3gr
18" - 3057
24" - 3268
26" - 3199

58.6gr
18" - 3107 fps - 6.3 SD - 11 ES
24" - 3261
26" - 3272 fps - 5.4 SD - 10 ES

Not sure what happened with 58.3 but 58.9gr had ejector marks on both rifles so I stopped there. First picture is the 18" built on a Defiance action and the second picture is the 26" X-Bolt Pro starting with 58gr at the top. In my Mausingfield with the 24" proof I didn't get ejector marks until 59.5gr and a velocity of 3370 fps, both of these rifles pressured out quite a bit short of that.

Rifle photos? Ooh, just brass. Very light ejector marks. Good place to stop. Groups next?

58 gave 1+ moa groups with the 18" and 1/2 moa groups in the 26" while 58.3 was the opposite. 58.6 gave sub 1/2 moa groups in both which is where I'm going to load them if I go with StaBall. I think I'm going to give Hybrid 100V a shot as I got them up to 3400 in the Proof barrel though they are definitely too hot when run through the X-Bolt.

Mr. Willfrye , have you done anymore work on the 151 AH in your 30-06 ? could you also tell me where you are at OAL . I am working with the 300 SM Lazzeroni Patriot 162 AH and will get on the 06 as soon as I work load up for the short mag. Any additional info will be appreciated for the 06.

Thank you Sir , F.K.

I have been wanting to try the 97 grain ab hammers to gain some speed in my grendel i run a 100 griain eld at 2760 with benchmark i happy with that load but the claim that u can get 200x300 fps higher is a tempting thought.
3 times the money per bullet is also a bummer ,but for hunting it shouldnt break the bank.
if anyone has tried them in a grendel please post results
thx
I ya r tried them. I was able to get a full gr more powder xbr in without over pressure from my 99gr hammer. But I needed more room. Recently picked up some rl10 which is 85 percent fill as opposed to 106 for xbr and is a bit faster. Haven't had time to run them yet as a new house has me swamped.
I can tell you that I'm not pushing the 99's hard at all at 2780 FPS out of a 18" barrel and I will never be going back to eld after seeing first hand how much better they are on large deer, hogs and audad. I've been able to take over 50 animals with them and they are stellar. Hoping the 97 gets more speed which looks like I will based on it had less pressure than the 99's just ran out of case with xbr

Finally got to shoot today!

66. 3557
67. 3675
No pressure signs, no felt recoil changes, will have to load some more and push a little farther.
IMR 4831

73. 3968 ejector, flat primer, heavy bolt lift, quit here, big recoil impulse. Quit here.
Rl26
62 gr. 3140
63. 3137
64. 3189
65. 3271
66. 3244
Nothing happening here, need to jump at least 4 gr. and see what happens, lot of case cap left.

Need to push this one up a couple more grains and see.
72-75 were touching and 71 was about an 1/8" outside the group so it's accurate anyway. Might need to live here, 3700 or so ain't bad.

Hornady factory 90 gr. GMX averaged 3440.
