Good shooting friend and congratulations! I used to have a 7 mag that ran that bullet at 2997 fps. I shot a bull at 1098 with similar results. Love those Berger HVLD's and EOL's for long range.

Those are the results I've seen on shoulder shots at similiar impact velocity with 168 VLDH from my 7-08.

SAME with my Elk shot with, a .270 WSM and 140 gr. Classic Hunters @ 3,175 FPS ave Velocity
Got "Full Pass Thru" BOTH, upper Shoulders with, a Silver Dollar sized Exit at,.. 115 yds
Bergers,.. ARE,.. TOUGH
