If it has been stated I missed it. What powder does hornady use?
It looks RL to me.
I've read RL 26 and 25 but I can't tell.
My load is with RL26 and a 175 elite hunter with 66.5 gr and get 2930 fps so that makes me think that the 175 precision hunter is not rl26 at 68 gr because is I was only getting 2830 fps with that ammo.

For the most part they are not using powders commercially available to reloaders. When the creed first came out they did use H4350 and put the load on the box. I believe they now use another non canister grade powder.

I believe they use non canister grade powder and what that means is its factory seconds that they get for cheap…the canister grade powder we get is actually the better stuff with tighter quality control. I don't think they're getting some special pixie dust powder to load their ammo, it's the same powders we can get they just don't tell you which one. The Superformance line could be the one exception to this but I'm not even sure on that one.

On larger animals like elk, a larger, more powerful cartridge is needed than the calibers use to take smaller game like whitetail. The brand new 7mm PRC brings a lot to the table. It boasts plenty of power, is incredibly flat-shooting, and is all but impervious to the wind making.
Great post! Did you also write the following article? 😀

Just finished putting together my Tikka 7PRC. Should have enough cash in a month or so for some glass. Can't wait to get it out and stretch her legs a little!

Boxes labeled "superformance" is a farce as it's not the superformance powder.

H1000 perhaps?

4831sc maybe? If not then a proprietary blend I'm guessing. I've got a lb of 4831sc as I've heard good things about it from several people testing it on 7prc.

The 1st pic is what I pulled from the garbage 175 precision hunter ammo
2nd pic RL26
3rd pic is h1000
I'd say this lot was definitely a RL powder
4th pic is what charge weights I got out of 19 pulled rounds.
I'm glad I make my own.
