7prc or 7mag

7 RM. I have worked up loads on 5 different 7 PRC's this year and I am not impressed with there performance for the the amount of powder they burn. My Saums run close to the same velocity with 5 grains less powder ! I have had several 7 mags that would easily out run the prc. I reload all my ammo, but the factory stuff I did try in the 7 prc was really a turd.

Start looking at the Pierce rifle reviews. Then run away on different forums. It's not pretty.

7PRC is the easy button.

28 nosler with a long throat would be my choice if 3000fps was the plan. Then I'd shoot 180 eldms!

So I have become a Fierce hater myself. If they would just fix their crappy stocks they would have something but I think that's where they cut corners. First off, they don't bed anything and there are no pillars at all. You take the barreled action out of the stock and it's just a sloppy looking mess in there where they did the inletting. His had two cracks around near the action screw holes. His action was moving back and forth in the stock which you can see the action has rub marks on it. You couldn't hold a zero with that rifle to save your life. And this was with their Carbon CT Rival!

I'm about to pull the trigger on a fierce carbon rival in one of the 7s but can't decide which one to get. I was wanting a 22" barrel but I've been seeing slow velocities with the 22" so maybe I'll get a 24" instead. What's everyone's experience with velocity in 22" barrels and opinions on 7prc vs 7mag. The fierce comes with 8.5 twist in 7 mag so I'd still be able to shoot heavier bullets
7 mag. You will be disappointed in the performance of the 7PRC. You will not get close to advertised velocity.

As I said, POT LUCK. I researched these rifles extensively, wouldn't drop a cent on one ever…
There are far better rifles on the market with better quality control for a much better price.

Cheers.

I don't care too much about bedding because I'll just do it myself but not having pillars is wild! I seen backfire do a video about the inletting looking crappy but that was the older rivals and he said if it wasn't a tack driver I'd be ****ed about it looking sloppy. I wish you could test rifles before buying them😂

I'm all ears? I just want a quality rifle that shoots through the same hole. Don't say Christensen though…those are fn terrible

Bergara if pushed or Seekins.

Unfortunately for me, choice has me building customs, but if going factory, these 2 are in the lead.
There are many others, but again choice is the problem with getting quality for the money.

Cheers.

@MagnumManiac I was thinking about bergara/seekins and just swapping out the stock for manners pro hunter. The bergara has a slow twist rate for 7 mag though. I might just say f it and build a custom too
