I'm about to pull the trigger on a fierce carbon rival in one of the 7s but can't decide which one to get. I was wanting a 22" barrel but I've been seeing slow velocities with the 22" so maybe I'll get a 24" instead. What's everyone's experience with velocity in 22" barrels and opinions on 7prc vs 7mag. The fierce comes with 8.5 twist in 7 mag so I'd still be able to shoot heavier bullets

PRC-better brass

Pondering this myself…. Have a Fierce 7 RM and thinking about adding another barrel for my Blaser R8. Would have to go aftermarket for a 7 PRC.

Have a 6.5 and 300 PRC and really like them. For most hunters, little significant difference between the two 7's. Same thing for 300 WM and PRC. For long range shooting there is.

All that said, if you are a hand loader I would go 7 PRC if you don't already have a 7 RM. If you already have dies, brass etc I'd stick with the 7 RM.

I would worry more about a fierce rifle than which 7magnum. Get a Seekins instead. Have seen issues with the ones I worked with and have heard other reviews of the same. I went 7PRC over the WM for 284 cal. Epsicailly with a shorter barrel. Still shoot the 300 WMs in the belted though.

7rm would be my choice for sure. The only powder that gives good velocity in 7prc is not available any more. So you will be always wanting more, but can get it.

...only one has stood the test of TIME !! Personally I'm not hedging any bets on anything that hasn't been around for many moons, too dam old to be monkeying around finding components for 100fps... 7mm Rem Mag, truly an old warhorse !

375H&H, 300 Bee etc, all form into 7STW easily.

I am good for brass for the life of 3 barrels at least.

Cheers.
