7mm stw or 28 nosler?

If I were you I'd build a 7-300 prc because you can actually get good quality brass for it and it's available. Lapua brass.

28 nosler would be my second choice.

7prc is gunna be significantly slower so if speeds what your after i wouldn't wait for it. Plus it'll a be awhile before lapua builds brass and it's actually available. Same with adg, Peterson ect.

Personally, I'd build a 7stw, but I have a decent amount of brass in the basement. I'd buy a couple hundred casings before you decide on any build in today's environment... 28 nos and 7rum are both very hard on throats. 7stw isn't far behind. If I was starting from scratch I'd think of a 7x300, 7roy, 7rem, or 280ai also. They can all haul freight well enough.

Had 2 STW's and now on a 28 Nosler. I loved the STW, but likely won't go back. The advantages of the 28 aren't large, but they are there. Good STW brass can be hard to find and the belted case doesn't feed as smoothly. I get faster speeds from the 28 because I can seat the bullet longer and use more case volume....especially with bullets over 160 grains.

Trying to decide on a gun build. 7mm stw or 28 nosler any input?
They are so similar, you should consider why the Nosler and PRC came about. The #1 deciding factor is how they establish Headspace. The STW is 100yr+ old achool and headspaces on the Magnum Ring….about a 1/4". The New Noslers and PRC's and my very favorite Dakota's headspace on the shoulder. That makes more precise loads more consistent. No brainer.

And PS, I've got at least 100tds of 1x fired brass, trimmed, primer pocket reamed, chamfered mouth, ready to load. I'd sold my gun before reloading for in. Previous owner shot it out. I put a Krieger .300 Dakota barrel on it.

True, but once you have fired your brass once, it is headspacing on the shoulder as well, at least as long as you don't push it back too far. I've never had an issue with this in belted cases, and I've had a lot of rifles that use them (still do). FWIW - dan
