7mm STW Brotherhood - For those who shoot the 7mm Shooting Times Westerner

I was able to get out and test some rounds today. Although the wind was at 11mph I just needed to do it. I had a itch Glad I did. Wasn't expecting this at all but I'll take it.
7mm STW, H1000, CCI250, 160gr Nosler Accubond, 100yrds, FL sized R-P brass, OAL 3.600, Jump of .070 Made a scope adjustment between the 2 groups and I over corrected by 1/2".

Son, i believe your search is over. Great group, but no surprise. We told you the 1000 works.

You did and I never doubted you guys. Thanks for all your help. Next time out I'll streach it out to 300 possibly 600 and see what she can do.

I grabbed some Barnes 145 LRX but now I think I'll try them in my 7mm and leave the STW alone.

Next up: I have a small ring Mauser SA that was a 243 but with the barrel shot out it is time to change calibers. Any suggestions on what to change it to?

7.08, or 308 love um both. Plenty of brux, and Lilja barrels around. As a matter of fact, i think I saw a few in the classifieds here.
Happy Easter to all!

Ps, give those 145lrx bullets a whirl. They REALLY impressed me when I was shooting them, and they kill like lightening. The acurracy was insane . My first box alone filled the freezer several times over, plus crop damage. Nothin walked, most drt. The remainders, two step momba got um!
Foxes hate them TOO!
Coyote don't care for them either!

Looking at the internet and ran across this great forum. Been looking for a STW for the last 20 years. Unheard of where I live. Finally a neighbor of mine mentioned he had one and never shot it. Of course I jumped on it in a heart beat.

It's a Winchester with a Leopold scope on it. I hunt antelope, deer and elk. Can't wait to go to Colorado this year. Thanks for the add.

Welcome to the club, there are a lot of Winchester fans here including myself, give us some details on the gun or post a pic and congrats on finding a gem like that

I have personally shot the Amax, version, and I'm assuming Iits the same, except the tip is better.
My Sako absolutely loved them, and my Sharpshooter did as well. Those are very accurate bullets. I'm thinking they will amaze!

Thanks,I'll throw a pot full of H1000 in under them and see what happens

I did not get excited with the 162ELDX. Gave them a good try with 7828 and Rutumbo. Not bad but not great either. I found the OGIVE was different between bullets in the same box. I seat off the OGIVE so I didn't worry about it until I couldnt get consistency. I like your idea H1000 and they may work out for you. Keep us posted on there performance.

Here is the 162 ELDX,maybe I pulled it on the flyer?gotta tweak the powder a bit, might be a good bullet, got 2 to touch anyway

Kinda looks familiar to what I would get from them. Tweak it and see if you can straighten it out. Let us know how you do. I was a 3 shot group guy for ever until I started second guessing myself as well. Then I went to 4 shot groups Incase I felt I may have pulled one. Still never got a clean 3 shot group from doing it thou. Good luck.
