It shoots good for me, but I am no expert. I have killed some elk with it and deer. I have shot less than 2 boxes of ammo out of it.
Guys, I bought a 308 today. I am saying goodbye to my STW. I just listed it on armslist for $700.
If anyone wants it, here is the listing:
ARMSLIST - For Sale: 7 mm STW Remington 700 with two stocks
AlaabamaJagd, did that gun have a drop box magazine, or was it a BDL? how did it shoot while you had it?
It has a detachable magazine. I am no pro, but it always shot good for me. I sighted it in for 100 yards and it would out-shoot me.
Does it also have a muzzle brake?
Oops, I just looked at the ad again and it says it does have a ported barrel.
Yep it has a break on it. The gun is frickin loud!
Alabama, are you the first and only owner? Who did the trigger work? Or did you replace it with a brand? Why are there 2 stocks? Does it have a screw off muzzle brake or is it ported? Sounds like you have the original box right? What's the serial number, I like to check with Remington on the manufacture date and what it was when it left the factory. Thanks... Sounds like a deal if all checks out.
Are you interested in any trades, I have a MINT 700 LSS in 300 WIN mag?
7stw .......you beat me to it I was gonna try to trade him my 22-250I would be interested. I bought a 308 yesterday, but I was debating on getting a 300 win mag. The only reason I am getting rid of the STW is because I don't reload and factory ammo is too expensive. My wife may kill me if I get another gun though. I think I would prefer to sell it, but I will consider trades if it doesn't sell in the next day or two.
