7mm saum - load data help!

In my 7mm RSAUM, I tried 7977 but hit pressure way earlier than I did with H1000.

63.0 gr 7977 was too hot. I went up to 67.0 gr H1000. All with a Berger 168 VLDH.

Also Curious on speed.

Sorry i'm bringing up old stuff, but i'm building an 18" proof 7saum and was thinking of H1000 as well. What weight bullet were you pushing 2830-2850?

I can't even imagine the ferocious muzzle blast from a short barreled SAUM! I had a 20" 300SAUM that I quickly sold because it was so unpleasant to shoot.

Idk man, I have a 300 wsm in 16 with a muzzle break and im shooting 180gr using rl26 hot rodding it to 2950 fps. The rifle only weighs 8lbs fully dressed, and I think its a pleasure to shoot. Sometimes the blasts pops me in the face a little here and there but I still love shooting it.

Idk man, I have a 300 wsm in 16 with a muzzle break and im shooting 180gr using rl26 hot rodding it to 2950 fps. The rifle only weighs 8lbs fully dressed, and I think its a pleasure to shoot. Sometimes the blasts pops me in the face a little here and there but I still love shooting it.

I just sent my tikka action and a proof 1:8 twist 18" barrel to Whidden gunwerks to get chambered and threaded for a suppressor.

I've acquired several powders to tinker with. h1000 is one of them.

I'll post my results back here whenever I get around to it. Think I have a 6 week wait anyway.

2830-2850 fps with Berger 168 VLDH
2800 fps with Hornady 162 ELDX using less powder.

What load did you end up. I just got my 17 inch, pleasure to shoot. even on my 8 lb rifle! im working up loads with the 180edlm using rl26 and the 166 atip and 168 barnes lrx. also playing with h1000
