7mm-08 loads

New to this caliber, picked up a box of hornady 154 sst when I picked gun up. Did I go to heavy? Not finding much data

I shoot 150 ELDX in a 22" Ruger Predator @ 2750fps.

Do you have a Hornady manual?

My little 7/08 (788 with a short 18" barrel) perks really well with R17 and any bullet between 110 and 175 grains.

I was gonna go with the 150 eldx but the gun shop I picked rifle up at only had the 154s and I like to do local business if possible.

I'm sure I can look it up online, I don't have a hornady manual, probally should get one and a barnes

It really is worth it.

I shot a 6pnt whitetail with the 150ELDX & they hammer.

Shooting at our range later to 300 & 400yards, those 7mm 150ELDX hit harder @ 2750 my than our bolt gun 16" 308 with the 178 AMax @ 2450. Less adjustments too.

My wife's rifle is a Browning X-Bolt 7mm-08 Micro Midas. It has been much more picky with bullets than I expected it to be. It will shoot just about anything at 1.5 MOA. But I was never satisfied with that. I found the Hammer Hunter 101 grain bullets shoot by far the best out of the rifle. I'm getting close to 0.5 MOA.

But I was never satisfied with that. I found the Hammer Hunter 101 grain bullets shoot by far the best out of the rifle. I'm getting close to 0.5 MOA.

I'm sure the hammers will shoot, they did awesome in my 33 nosler

I got the best results with H4895, around 3,300 FPS. Unfortunately she has not had a chance to try out the new bullets on a deer this year.
